Hey Booya420,
So is your car a genuine 67 Z?
Beyond Jerry's books, which are VERY helpful, look at this article by Kurt: http://www.camaros.org/emissions.shtml
I found it very helpful in understanding the whole smog device business.
Gotta love CRG!  ;D

ok now did all 67 z's come with smog

Jerry@CHP

Only the 67 Z28s delivered to CA received smog.  MP engine code, all other 49 state cars were MO code.

The amperage rating is stamped on the alternator front case, adjacent to the part number and date code.

yes i know, but what i was wondering was if you could  find out what altenator came on the car through out  the various tags and codes on the car

Booya420 -

There's no way to determine which alternator came on your car through the car's trim plate.  For a 1967 Z/28 you have three different alternators possible:

1) 1100693  -  37 amp  (standard)
2) 1100696  -  42 amp  (optional)
3) 1100750  -  61 amp  (optional - very rare)
