Experts: We are restoring a numbers matching 4 Speed L48 Car with factory AC. We have been restoring it for 4 years now and getting closer to the end. While working on the engine and little detail things, we can't find pictures or references of stuff like the fuel filter, pcv and other hose routing.

Does anyone have some detailed engine pictures of an original L48 car with smog and a/c ? Your car can also be restored as long as it's factory correct  :D.

Didn't see any input on this yet. Any insight will be much appreciated!

Farhanhh, The fuel filter for the L48 is GF-432, the one with the return line. If you bought the 3 piece carb line, there is only one way it can go :)  No clamp in SBs. PCV is a stock SB routing (drivers side front of valve cover 90 bend to front nipple on carb).  Again a proper repro, it only really goes one way.

This is a good pic of the hoses

I know this isnt an A/C car but it shows the pcv & filter on a 69 Nova and the photos were taken when it was on the lot new.

I wonder why pics and details of the L48 are so rare? I'm going to start a revolution, the SS350 is a diamond. Throw away your Z28s, everyone should want an SS350. Especially a 69 of course.

Dont hold your breath..  Especially the 69 comment.. :o ;D

If the engine is a Tonowanda built small block it will have over spray on the exhaust manifolds with the french locks in place as shown.
Tonowanda small blocks have a T as a prefix on the engine assembly date and WILL NOT have the plug on the front of the block for the oil galleys.

If not mistaken someone on here constructed or milled a set of collets for crimping A/C hoses, they couldn't find the correct look for the finished crimp and ended up making the set needed, if I remember correctly there was little if any difference in the finished crimps. 10 years ago?

Steve Shauger has a 14k mile SSRS L48 A/C car. the pictures under the hood are very nice.
