1969 Pace Restoration - Pin Stripes

In the process of restoring a 1969 Pace Car. My intention is to put the Indy 500 door decals on the car. Originally, the pin stripes would have extended over from the front fenders into the doors. My question is : Should I put the pin stripes on that way or stop them at the fender ? Just looking for feedback. Thanks

The 2 pace cars that my father restored back in the late 90's & early 2000s the pin stripe stopped at the fender and door edge.
