Obviously the build configurations of the L48 were different for different models!

The base engine broadcast code for the '70 Corvette 350/300 was "ZQ3".  The RPO broadcast code for the 350/300 in other vehicle usage was "L-48".  It could be the Corvette block spec for the ZQ-3 was different than the L-48, but only conjecture here.
