Were the covers painted or left as bare cast iron. If painted what colour were they ? Can't find info anywhere. Cheers.

 If you are talking about the round cover in the front that the torque converter shaft comes through, it is unpainted.

That's the one, thanks Mike. Doesn't really matter as you don't see it but I want to restore it properly.
