According to (source data from Hot Rod magazine, 1975) artice, it states, the following number of Z/28 were sold...In 1967 (602), 1968 (7,199), and in 1969 (20,302)...For the experts here, does this number look to be correct..The 1967 numbers would seem correct since it was the first year of a new body style. The number of units sold looks relatively low to me based on the total number of Camaro sold in 1968 and 1969.

Great information, and thanks for sharing...This is a more extensive break down than I would have expected to see.. Plus the numbers seem to support the article as well...

Does make you think "huh", doesn't it?
But Ford sold even less Boss 302 Mustangs when they came out to compete with the Camaro.

What really seems odd is that in 1969 there were 20,302 Z/28's  sold..

The real laugh answer is:
The number of first gen Z's manufactured is about two thirds less than the number still on the road today. ;)

I wouldn't think so because of the extended run into November. This would have had to have some very thoughtful planning.  This just a paraphrase of the report on the extra run time but ......
"The extended 69 production and the delay of introduction of the '70 Camaro was not purposeful"
So they didn't plan the extended run nor did they anticipate the extra run so they couldn't have planned it.

On that note, can someone clarify about the strike? I remember it but not details. Was the strike only involving Camaros?
