ANOTHER Z/28 Cowl Tag sanded , this tag real??

What is the deal with these people grinding on cowl tags. Are they trying to hide something. Take a look at this one... Danny

Kinda tough, with that small a picture, but i would tentatively say it looks OK.  Need a bigger one to be sure.  Rivets have been mess with for sure though.

got to love that the tag is sanded away "to see it better" but the same aged cowl has a fresh T stamp on it just below the tag which glows in the dark.

 Are you sure it's not just a build up of paint layers and an attempt to use a rag soaked with thinners to clean it? I have seen wipes that leave seemingly sand mark streaks.
