body numbers for 1969 camaro

would like to know if the body number tells if the car has a automatic transmission or four speed transmisson?  thanks larry

No I does not. Please repost in general discussion forum. This section is for orphan parts to get back to original cars.

The POP (warranty card) , the engine stamp, or if you have a transmission it would have the VIN stamped on it to match the car. There are a few tell tail signs that might indicate which transmission was used but no guarantee.
