Antenna questions for 69 Z28

I have looked through the older posts here, but i haven't seen this question.

but..... how did they (the factories) decide which cars had front antenna vs rear?

from what i understand both were done in that production year

The rear mount antenna was an option that was only available with an AM radio; it wasn't available if you ordered an AM-FM radio and/or a rear spoiler.

my car was a radio delete, and i do want to install one ( I have a real radio and antenna) but wasnt sure if the rear was acceptable

now i am positive to put it on the front passenger fender.
