69 cowl hood and hinges

how do you identify between a GM and repro cowl hood, and did the cowl hood use differant hood springs.

Also go to the home page and look under "Numbers Decode", down near the very end.  Shows original date stamping and another pic of a hood left rear corner.  I've seen some stamps that are halfway off the edge, or lightly stamped so you may need to remove any built-up layers of paint to find it.
