Does anyone have an original or survivor '69 with a deluxe interior and the original rear package tray?  I would like to see a picture of the mesh design on the deluxe tray vs. the flat cardboard look on the standard tray which I have.  I restored my car back in 1995 - 2000, the repro mesh designs were not available.

Also, do the reproduction deluxe rear package trays match the originals?

Thanks!

All '69s had the same package tray style regardless of interior.

William,

William,

Thanks for the feedback and I tend to agree with you.  I recently noticed in D&R's on-line catalog that they now sell mesh style package trays for 1st Gen's with deluxe interiors.

I recall from my senior year in high school (1978), a classmate had a '69 Hugger Orange, white stripe, RS X33 Z28 with deluxe white interior, and that the rear package tray was textured and not flat cardboard.  He purchased this '69 in 1974, which at the time was an unrestored original, five year old car.  I don't know the build date of the car or if it was LA or Norwood build car.

So, I would still like to survey owners of original/survivor '69's with a deluxe interior to see if indeed, there were any produced with the mesh style package trays.

Thanks

Would the mesh be the holes for the rear speakers if equiped?

You're wasting your time. No mesh package tray as original euipment on any 1st gen Camaro.

A rear speaker option had a grill over the rear speaker. The mesh package trays are just an aftermarket modification part. It is "deluxe" in description only. That package tray with mesh added had nothing to do with a deluxe interior RPO.

The "mesh" package tray is a "vendor invention". Photo below is the plain cardboard package tray (with C50 defogger) in my untouched original 02D Norwood '69 with the deluxe interior; all coupes used the same plain package tray, regardless whether they had the standard or deluxe interior.

John, could you please post the picture of your rear speaker set-up.  I can't seem to open it.
Thanks,
