I'm researching battery cables and I'm looking for the cable part numbers and broadcast codes from any 67-69 L6 cars. The part # and code is molded into the cable and the format is 6290588 BT. I think I know what the codes should be, but confirmation is always needed. Do any of you have AC on your L6?
Thanks!

Kurt, the part number is correct for 67-69 and I needed new cables for my 68. Lectric Limited has all the cables for the 6 cylinder, but you have to choose between the HD battery, standard battery, ac, no ac as the top post locations are different The standard battery has the positive cable next to the fender. The only incorrect part that stood out was the terminal ring at the starter, which doesn't have the factory alignment tab, and I'm still trying to find one. My car does have factory ac as well. Here's the link to the Lectric page. Let me know if you need anything else. I'd load pictures, but obviously can't.

Re. Terminal Lug "Tang"

The Anti-rotation spade-tang extension is "IMPOSSIBLE" to source.
I have searched. T.E. (Tyco Electronics), Thomas & Betts, Amp Industries, ETC.

The current reproducer of the Best available Reproduction Batt cables Claim they Manufacture to Original drawings and they can NOT justify the Costs associated with Sourcing EXACT crimp on ring tongue -indexed terminals. Also when installing this style Factory Original the Crimp "Keying" of the terminal become Much more critical.
They understandably took the easy way out.

I also looked into (*Inquired) if they could Take my Factory Cable and re Lug the Spring ring End using their tooling and materials, No Way they said - Liability.

P.S.  I took the asphalt woven wire protection off Years ago, It was frayed and oil soaked. It was retained via a single "Hog" Ring to offer mechanical chaffing protection of the Positive Batt cable as it ran along the Oil Pan Etc.

Here's a starter cable with the anti-rotation tab.

I'm still looking for original L6 cables. The only one I'm sure of is 6290588 BT.
AC and HD battery affect the cables.
Interesting - the 69 AIM does not show the L6 getting the side terminal battery. Maybe it kept the top post battery til the end of 69 production??

I don't care about the reproductions - many of the applications are wrong. This is why we research.... :)
