I am building a 69 Camaro hardtop and wondering what type of pin switch I need to order for the door jamb that work the courtesy lights.  I see there are either a single pin or a double pin switch both recommended.  Which one do I need?  Also, how do these work...meaning are the single wire switches grounded and the wire is a positive that is grounded?  On the double wire switches, is the circuit opened or closed when opening the door?  Are the wires connected or disconnected when the door is open?  I think I remember reading that GM does this one way while Ford does it the opposite.  Thanks for any info.

Double in the LH jamb, single on the other side.

Can't help you on exactly how they work.

The jam switches are switching the ground. There is no power at the jam switches.
When one , or both doors are open the switch is closed. And providing the ground for the dome light.
The double contact on the L/H jam switch is knothing more than a jumper that runs over to the R/H jam switch.

You need to be picky on where you buy them. The Delco replacement is not correct for the double pin driver side.

What is the issue with the ACD part?

The LH 2-contact switch also grounds the key buzzer circuit when the door is open.

It has a plastic sleeve and a plastic button on the end. At least the Delco part I bought did. I tried twice.
