I bought a 68 model a few month ago and posted some questions about the car, one that I need to clerify is how can you tell Reproduction sticker from originals, I had took a pic of my tire (glovebox) and Posi sticker and they were called reproductions, I have since talked to and met the owner of the car frome 1977 to 1994 and the stickers were there then, he had a very extensive photo album, were reproduction stickers made for 9 year old cars? how can I tell repo or not
Thanks
Lane

The posi "sticker" isn't really a sticker... it was a piece of paper that was hap-hazzardly smeared with glue then stuck onto the inside of the deck lid... so if yours is an actual sticker it is a reproduction...

Photo below shows the original jacking instruction sticker and Posi label on my '69 - note the sloppy positioning and glue job on the Posi label.

Repop stickers have been around since at least the late 70's and very early 80's, Thats over 25-30 years ago!

You can see the difference on the tire stickers.  I can't speak to the posi emblem.

Not to mention that is the first one that I've seen placed in the right "cup holder" on the glovebox door.     ::)     ???

I know my car is not a Z but it just makes me wonder who whould go through the trouble of changing the tire sticker on a 9 year old car? I have a 79 Z28 and I am glad it is a Z but I could care less..

There are people who do and so there are people who will try to make money on that assumption, either legally or not.
