Does anyone know what this hole with the grommet would be used for. This is a picture of my firewall from my 69 Z28. The area pictured is to the left side of the brake booster, just below the wiper motor.

That's an approximate location for the K66 TI ignition jumper wire.
Learning more and more about less and less...

I was going to post the same question on my Z.
Have to read up on what the K66 TI ignition jumper wire is.
Found it: https://www.camaros.org/trans_ign.shtml

The article in Camaros.org states that it is a 3/4 in hole that was used for the TI wire harness. My hole is 1/2 in. , looks like your's is to. Badshifter did your car ever have a crossram setup on it?

Badshifter

Hello Wiseman, I was told by the second owner it had a crossram on it when the original owner raced it. The original owner blew/broke the original engine. Second owner "thinks" it had a service replacement engine in it when he bought it and a single carb. Third owner who I brought the car from pulled that engine in the 80s to rebuild it. He ran into some trouble and did some time and the engine was sold by the rebuilder.
So long story short, I don't know.

Thats interesting Badshifter, I was told by 2 former owners that my Z28 had a cross ram setup on it. I have always wondered if it came like that from the factory as I have never found the original owner to verify it. Recently I reached out to Wayne Guinn, he's pretty knowledgeable on cross rams. He had me take a picture of the my firewall that I posted on here and to the left of the hole we are questioning there is a ground strap and to the left of that there is a small impression. Original gm cross rams use a v6 pedal and it goes through where that impression by the ground strap is. He thought the hole that we are wondering about might have been used for a after market cross ram. My hole has a grommet in it.
