69 Disc spindle washer differences?

So, I have 3 pairs of disc brakes I am bring back from the dead.  Two in my shed attic (for decades) and another in a box for 40 years. They were in partial disassembly, so I don't know which spindle washer was on which set.

But For the life of me, I don't know why I have 3 washers with a tangential cut and 3 without.  Was there a cut washer on one side and a round on another? Or was one set round, and another cut and 1 set was a mix?  Thanks
