Saw an interesting read on Yenko.net and had to check to see what I have. I have only 2, but they are stamped identically and were on my 69 SS X11 car with an 06A build date. Any insight/info will be appreciated. I have more pics I can email if needed. Thanks.

Can you post a link?? I didn't see anything regarding steel wheels on the Yenko site. Thanks.

That's nothing like this wheel. Never seen DOT stamped on a 1st gen wheel.
Looks like a later 70's wheel, IMO. The code is TX, not XT.

You can see the stamping shows its most likely an over the counter GM wheel. K183 means it was produced in 1983.

What year did Kelsey change their wheel coding scheme??

-------------------------------------------------
(from CRG - http://www.camaros.org/suspen.shtml#Wheels)

1967-69 Wheel Code Format
   K1y m (hole) dd aa

where:
    K = Kelsey-Hayes
    1 = Romulus, MI wheel plant
    y = calendar year
    m = month
   dd = day
   aa = application code

K19 8 4 YH = a 69 Z28 wheel built by
  Kelsey-Hayes for Chevrolet on 8/4/69.

Someone finally realized that it probably wasn't the best idea to let a single digit represent 3 decades of production.
