Restoring a distrubutor housing with slight corrosion . Has anyone ever cleaned corrosion from aluminum without blasting ?Dont want to remove the machine marks. Anyone ? thanks

John, in addition to a multitude of chemical cleaners for aluminum, consider vapor blasting the housing, I've cleaned distributor housings with it several times and, unlike dry media blasting, it doesn't erode or degrade any of the machining marks or stamps. There is a thread on the subject of VB over on SYC if you're interested:

I have heard you can clean oxidized aluminum with MMO, but I have tried it myself.

Hi John, agree with Lloyd on what I've seen with vapor blasting even though I never personally used but I did utilize JohnZ's comment years ago using my blast cabinet to do some aluminum pieces with glass bead but at no more than 25PSI and it worked but a slow process.

Yes.   BEST Vapor Blast, BETTER L.P. Glass Bead, GOOD Eagle One Alum Wheel Cleaner and Nylon Brush,
Never(?): Wire Wheel, Dremel, Stainless steel wire brush,  Sandpaper, ETC.

I understand folks Might not need or warrant the BEST or BETTER  give the Non Blast attempts a try on a hidden area and see if your results are acceptable to you.
