1969 dash pad install with blue light stereo

My car is an original blue light stereo car. I recently removed the dash pad to work on some things in the dash. The clip that attaches to the dash pad directly above the multiplexer will not seat completely. In saying that it leaves a bump in the dash pad when installed. I don't recall seeing that when I removed the dash pad. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
