Does anyone know the part number for a 1968 3 speed column shift knob? The colour is blue, goes with the 717 blue interior. Many thanks.

68 Camaro with 3 speed column shift.  Knob, control lever (dark blue with chrome), part number: 3928281.

I'm not sure about the "dark blue and chrome". It is a medium blue and there is no chrome. I'm attaching a picture to better describe it. If anyone has a NOS one, let me know.

I bet those are the same as Impala, which would be the easiest way of finding a used one.

One other thing, I bet you will only find them in black NOS.

My book shows them as:

Group 4.006 Knob, Transmission Control Lever - 67-69 Camaro Standard Trans column shift - Black 3973042

Supercedes:
3899062
3899063
3899064
3899066
3899067
3928387
3928388

The above must have been the different colors.

Impala or fullsized had the chrome trim which can probably be removed.

Steve's number above (3988281) looks like a Passenger car. 3988282 is a dark saddle with chrome knob.

Nope.  The number is applicable for the 68 Camaro.  It was also applicable for the 68 Chevelle with 3 speed column shift.  Please note that the number you quote above is not the same number I provided (3928281).

There is a blue knob for a 67 Camaro shown with part number 3899062.  I suppose it might be possible that you could have received a 67 blue instead of the 68 blue if your car was built close to the year change.  Are you sure it is the original one?

My bad, 3928282 shows up as a 68 Passenger car, saddle brown with chrome trim. This is one number off your number of 3928281. My GM parts book is from 1977 and most of those colored knobs were already discontinued at that time.

My book says 3973042 - All models with column shift, knob, control lever (black) paint as required.

I checked and my 68 and 772 sP&A doesn't  show that knob in blue, only the one that Steve68 mentioned.  There must be something here that we don't know...

I'm very sure it is the original knob. I bought the car 20 years ago from the original owner. The car is a survivor with original everything and was built in April 68, eliminating the possiblity that the knob was a 67 leftover. I just bought a NOS 3973042 knob, which is black, in case I can't find the correct NOS blue knob. It looks like 3899062 is what I should be looking for. Thanks for all your input.
