wood wheel horn kit install

Hi all, I'm restoring my 69Z to use a reproduction of the factory wood wheel. The horn kit can be installed several ways but none seems to allow the "down-leg" from the horn cap ring to reach the pin from the kit when I depress the horn cap. I have purchased a GM horn kit and not trimmed the contact pin. So I need some advise/instruction as to the proper sequence and orientation of the T-shaped pin, the coil spring, the plastic retaining sleeve. Thanks.
