Has anyone had any luck softening up the the seat belt retractor covers when they are brittle? If so, what did you use?

KevinW

Are you talking permanetly?

GIBSTER

I would like to clean them up but was thinking they would shatter

Are they a color other than black? If so there is really nothing that can be done with them... UV light seems to have a terrible affect on the colored plastic, it gets hard brittle then deteriorates.

They are black, if that makes a difference.

The black ones usually are not near as brittle as the colors... you may be able to find a good used set if yours are real bad.
