Reading an article about barn finds at macn last night. They must be getting hard to find. Camaros and others neat looking but missing born with engines, ect, repaints, rust buckets. One Camaro said big fish in NC that waited for big time angler. Here in NC we call the big fish a Carp. They wait so long because no one wants it for the price to pay.

Still seem to be popping up out here.  Not in the literal sense of "barn" find.  Most have been sitting in garages for 30+ years though.  I have 2 of them here that fit the description.  My SCJ Mustang still sits in obscurity since the early 80's.  I've only registered it and begun to drive it (once a year) in the last 3 years.  My 69 Z/28 was another one that hasn't been registered since 1985-ish.  So long that Arizona purged it from the DMV system and the car didn't exist when I put it back on the road 2 years ago.  Matter of fact I had it stored in a rickety shack out in Yarnell at a friends place.  I moved it back out here just a few months before the Yarnell Hill fire that killed 19 firefighters.  It burned that little shack to the ground.  If I had not of moved it the car would have permanently perished.   Pure luck.  It motivated me to stop letting the car sit around, LOL.

thank God for that Larry. best thing for them, is to drive them here and there, with the added benefit of the smile on your face. I think there are many cars in general, out of sight still. It used to be a SS or Z was a special find. Now a days it is any first Gen that is somewhat clean. 20 years of dust on it adds to value somehow...

I have to cringe every time I hear the term "Barn Find" as I still have one growing myself. Complete waste if I don't hurry and get it out of harm's way. Every black cloud that shows up reminds me of the vulnerability of lack of secure storage space. Too ashamed to show a pic of it, resting on the rims and rotten tires. And I keep telling everyone "get to it some day". Kinda like a lot of stories I've heard -

Did someone say "resting on rims with rotting tires"?  ;)  You're not alone, brother!
I'll get to this soon now that the convertible is completed.

Mike
PS: the tires are from 1980

LOL that is one dry rotted tire there. But it appears to be in a nice shop, on a lift. Love the color

Photo of shame - even more when it's got a coat of that gosh awful Hugger Orange (over Daytona on the doors) over the original Cortez Silver. Take that, all bogus barn car fakers - lol. Still has 4" (5" ?) Cragars on the front.

Notice the heater core box - makes barn car detectives interested. Disgusting.

I prefer Camero. Appeals to my heritage -

You'd think rescue if you had spotted the buzzard on top of it a few weeks back - if they weren't protected I would have shotgunned it. You'd have had to rescue me from jail.

Gotta turn off spell check, otherwise my computer wants to spell it Camero, LOL    Probably why you still see it spelled that way occasionally.  Even computers aren't correct sometimes.

Yeah pure luck really.  I have to thank my neighbor.  He had just sold the property so I had to grab the Z and get it out of there.  If it wasn't for him selling the property, it would have been the end of that car.

Worse yet, Auto fill on phones - makes you proofread everything twice, and still send some things you have to explain -

Nothing to be ashamed about Steve. At least it's your and waiting for you. I have one in my garage too waiting for me.

Don't be ashamed, Steve. Helps remind me I'm not the only one that has one sitting. I'd be ok with the buzzard. The "barn car detectives", however...
