68 caliper brake line sizes

Bought a couple of 5455530 calipers from a swap meet and noticed there's 2 different thread sizes for the brake lines. Could someone please tell me why?

I believe it is for discerning left and right on the assembly during.. well.. assembly    Danny

 I think that change to use two different size fittings took place sometime late in the '67 model run.
My 04LOS and 05NOR both use the same size fitting on each side.
