I'm no expert, but I'd would say it's a restamp!  My vote is based solely on comparing the stamping to the stamping on my original 1111266 distributor.  Also, don't you think it's convenient that it happens to be dented up right in the very area of the  stamping?    ???

Mike, I've never seen that date before on a 266 and the stamping doesn't match either one that I have here.  Notice that the "266" part of the stamp is crooked and mis-spaced...

Very good Mark (Zedder)!  You have noted two of the four abnormalities I saw which make me think it's a restamp!   8)

I figured it wasnt real as I know of only one good date for these. Thanks for confirming what I thought.
Auction says "GUARANTEED ORIGINAL STAMP". I guess somebody is going to pay over $1000 for a restamp. :o

You have to be very careful how people word things, especially on Ebay.  If the seller stamped an unstamped distributor, then he could claim "guaranteed original stamp".  The true original ones I've seen usually say "guaranteed original factory stamping".  My advice is to do your homework and ask a lot of questions, as you have done by starting this thread.  Good luck finding one.

I'm back from SD.

That's a restamp.  It's not even a known date.  Anyone buys that they're in trouble.
