I came across this on YouTube and thought you may find it interesting.
So many car assembly lines in one video:

Neat video.  At 2:44 those 348/409's in the back row all appear to have something written on the passenger side cylinder heads.  Very clearly appears to be on top of the paint too.  Pretty interesting.  Thanks Mike.

Great collection of Auto Assembly photos...  :)

Did you notice those three fellas looking confused and frustrated with that Boss 429 engine poised over the Mustang engine compartment?   (I feel for them!).. :)

Probably noting the difference between the big valve heads and the small valve heads.

Would be nice to know what year it is, because practices don't always stay the same.  That is 1965 or earlier if they are regular 409s, unless they are some special warranty engines.  Some 348s were built around or later than 1965.  Some were used for farm or industrial use too.

Very nice compilation video!  I bookmarked that one for sure.

Of course it also has the usual Yenko/COPO experts and their typical incorrect comments. :)

Interesting video - thanks! If you go to about 1:22 (red firebird at body drop), there are two guys in white shirts next to a column at the left side of the picture - the shorter guy with dark hair and glasses is me, when I was a Production Superintendent at Lordstown in 1969. The other guy was Al Perttola, my boss, General Superintendent.  ;D

Cool how pictures capture a moment in time.
White shirts, thick frame glasses and crew cuts......I'm sure there were pocket protectors too  :)
I've seen that management dress style many years ago while working at Grumman Aerospace Corp.
Interesting how Pontiac painted the tail pipe exit section that is exposed black. It looks like the muffler input pipe is black at the lower portion too?

Here is another video.  Granted not of actual GM assembly plant but more of the mentality or moral of GM plant in Lordstown.  Read the caption as it says the video was funded by Ford and video was of Ford assembly so who knows if the video was legit.
