Hey guy, if you want it to look factory original, you're gonna have to keep searching as I'm not much help. I've seen pics of what I thought were original, but danged if I can find them now ! I'm pretty certain they were cut straight and there's usually a gap between the lower molding, but not exactly sure where it was cut at. Surely there are folks around here with a 68 RS "survivor".... maybe they'll chime in eventually.

Anyway, this is how I did it. It's more of an angle cut, then filed trying to match the contour of the lower molding.
