Bryon do you know if Muncie was having issues with 4 speeds around the time that symbol showed up ? maybe they were tracking engineering issues?

I don't know, but that is one possibility.

It's not on all of the 68s I have seen - just some. But I have seen it on warranty transmissions and on regular transmissions that went into cars at vehicle assembly.

wanted to update this, was NOT able to locate  pictures on my hard drive

Thanks for checking back. Doubtful that is the VIN if it had the B code at the end of the assembly date.

i realize why this one created interest. i may still have photo somewhere on my hard drive.  Most likely it was an original case , possible 'B' was a typo on my part. i will post if i find it.
