I asked the seller if his price was correct since they're still available from the author for $25 + shipping (Jerry even offered to sign my copy). Seller response: "If you can buy it cheaper, why are you wasting my time?" I said I was giving you the chance to correct a typo. He responded "It's no typo"

It appears that the publish date is in 1993 so I guess the seller thinks it must be a rare first edition classic.

The first seller advertised them as 71-72 Chevy and received $39.99.   The fella who resold them advertised them as 64-72 Camaro Chevelle Nova NOS GM shields RS/SS Z28 and traded them for $332.02...     I suppose it shows that 'words' matter, but which one is the most accurate in his description???

I never make money either, but I do know a guy that does this with golf clubs.  He buys them cheap at yard sales and then ebays them for 3-4 times the amount.  He's been doing that for years.  Of course like anything else, just as you said Steve, you have to know what you're looking at.

I'm currently watching an auction for a CV-746C PCV valve.....one of the earlier ones made around 1968.  BIN only $995.00.  I had a chance to get one for appx. $200.00 a couple of years ago but missed the auction by 30 seconds.  Bummer

I paid $120 for a correct machined valve back 5 or so years back and thought I was crazy then but could make money on it now but its in the 68Z. After showing/judging maybe take it out and sell it. LOL
Bottom line, the bar for restoration has been raised significantly and all kinds of brackets and small what used to be nickel stuff can bring over a hundred to several hundred.
And the NOS hardware thing which is AMK purchased hardware is something else as aforementioned.
As Mike said, things have gotten out of hand especially with internal items. I should have sold my GM boxed lifters and other internal parts and used quality replacements.
