Hi, have read elsewhere in various places that the big blocks came with a yellow tipped dipstick.
Mine is a flattened handle with green tip - no dimple.
The blade markings are Add  Full  Engine oil  E [the E is at right angles, more heavily stamped and a different font.
Car is 68 L34
Any clarification appreciated.

A post from the "Old Forum" for what it's worth.  Not sure what year they were talking about.

Original BB dipsticks also don't have a part number or oil specifications on the blade - all they have are the full and add marks and "Engine Oil M".

Mine has a plastic insert but green in color with the letter E stamped on the stick measuring 24 1/4" length overall.
Seems yellow should be the correct color for 68 bb?

Edit: I've been ambushed here!  :D Had to modify this reply so the thread [or at least me!] made sense again..
