I think I've read someone's suggestion re seat belt cleaning and restoration on his forum before, but I'm not recalling the details.  Hopefully someone can pipe in with some suggestions.   This is not for my Camaro, but instead for a '72 El camino I'm working on which has 'covert' (parchment) interior, so the belts are light colored and in good shape but dirty.  I'm changing the interior to a saddle factory color, so after cleaning, I'm going to need to dye the belt material a darker shade.   Any / all suggestions appreciated from people who have addressed this before..

I read the links, and am applying the idea tonight (soaking in Oxyclean and very hot water).. This suggestion was apparently originally from 'James First Gen'..  but many others have tried it and attest to it as well..  :)    Thanks guys.
