1968 Front Drum Brakes

GM specifies a different part number for front brake shoes used with finned drums as opposed to those used with non-finned drums. Can anyone explain the differences in the shoes? Thanks, Joe.

The finned drums could have had metallic linings. I cannot say for sure. Someone here will know. They are the best.
