Thanks Billohio for the help on the soda blasting.  I Just found GM written on the inside of my fender extention, although it wasn't that fancy.  I found it looking for a sequence number.  Any idea why GM is written in different places?

Mine is upside down and I didn't see it until I took car apart. Not someplace I would look for anything

Maybe the stampings came from a company that supplied other auto makers as well as GM ?

Tom, that's the only explanation I can imagine why 'GM' would be written *anywhere* on a part as they are describing....   :)
