Would an 06A early June car have a 9E jack or a 9F jack? I just bought what was supposed to be a 9E but it is a 9F and I don't know if I should keep it or return it.

Thanks guys.

I think 9E would be more realistic.

Not necessarily. Jacks were installed in EVERY car so they were high usage. Dates are usually pretty close to the cars assembly date. Also, 06A date doesn't necessarily mean an "early" June car. What's your VIN?

I'm thinking that too, but don't want to rush into changing it just yet. Need to see what others have to say. I've been looking all day online about jacks and it's amazing how many cars are missing jacks.

Hi Ed. 653104 is the VIN. Any idea what was used for sleeves on these? I can't narrow it down. I have seen the really long ones that cover the hole mast and I have seen the little short ones too. If they are short it's only 2 of them. Is either correct?

In that case, yes, you have a very early June car so a 9E would probably fit better. Unfortunately, we don't have very much info in the way of jack dates in the db, so unless someone with a VIN very close to yours chimes in, you won't know for sure.

It's a little late for your car, but possible. The jack would be one of the last things into the car and your car was finished about 6/6 or 6/7.  If it's a nice jack and a good price, I'd probably keep it....

I was afraid of that. It is nice, too. Well, I need to see if this guy will exchange it. Thanks Kurt.

Gary let me know if he won't take it back. My car is a 07A car and I found a very nice 9E jack and I might be willing to do some trading with you.

6667ss138. I sent you a PM. Here are some pics of the jack. 1 overall and 1 of the date on the rivet.

He emailed me and said it was an oversight. He thought he sent me a 9E. I can see this mistake happening. You really have to look close when it's an E or an F. I sent it out this morning for exchange.

Here's a '69 jack with a 9B date stamp...

Sorry guys I forgot to finish this off. I finally had the 9F replaced with a 9E. All is good and now have a jack in my trunk.
