There looks to be a lot of negative camber on the rear of that Firebird.

Now pivoting to the left to look at the banked oval section, heading to the S/F line.

Hi Mike,

That is the Coppins Firebird, it raced in Australia '72, '73 '74 and '75 as well as the domestic NZ seasons.
The turn signal and marker lights were not required on the T/A circuit and were missing when the car got to NZ and as they were required, locally available/aftermarket items were used.

That Firebird was, and still is, based in New Zealand and that pic is at Calder in Australia in 1972. It is a T/G built car that arrived in NZ in late '72 with Ron Grable, one time Javelin T/A racer.
The car still exists and is being restored.

Robert, it is mostly detail stuff, engine aesthetics, plumbing and wiring etc, period correct valve covers, instrumentation, and seat etc on the inside.
The fuel cell and plumbing appeared to be a lot later than the 69 it represents.

The correctly built Pontiac rear end has 12 bolt ring gear and will take the 500+ hp quite well.

That's a pretty good price considering the things that it needs to be brought back to period correct presentation.

A T/A Javelin driver told me about a time at Laguna Seca he took a young female journalist for a ride in the Ronnie Kaplan Javelin, and he took delight in her fright.
She left a puddle on the passenger seat.

That's a neat shot group/7, Thank you. The ride along for a crew or family would be my guess too. Everyone loves a free ride.

This shows the First Gen door handles on the Titus driven T/G car, the sister to the Tirebird.

The car must have been a very early pre production body shell. I will see if I have a pic of the car to show the door handle.

I'm not sure if you ha noticed but of the two cars, one stayed a Firebird, the other was converted to a Camaro and was then able to use he Chev engine which was far more reliable. No point showcasing the new street T/A tire if the engine keeps blowing.

One of the cars had the usual Second Gen door handle, the other used the First Gen door handles.

It would seem he had a little sponsorship money from BFG...? 

T/G Racing were paid something like $ 0.50 per lap to test the T/A Radial, as well as the race sponsorship.

Surprised they would still be running the 200S wheel in 71, I thought it had issue with cracking.

I have some notes that mention, the Richard Brown driven (ex T/G Racing Firebird) Camaro built  (converted from it's Firebird identity) going to  "a bus company in Quebec, sponsorship was "La Patrie, the car was sold to Bob Giannou in '73, it was later sold to the General manager of McDonald Chev/Olds (Halifax ?) It had a 302 Chev, Muncie and 12 bolt. In about '77 it was sold to Rick Miro and ultimately it rests in the Halifax landfill. The brakes and gauges went into a '55 Chev, (the Traco oil filter adapter went to me in NZ.
