General Discussion / 186 cylinder heads
August 02, 2011, 08:23:34 PM
I have a 69 Z28 with the original motor but the wrong heads and I want to put the correct dated heads on my engine. I have a set of 186 heads, both dated G 29 9 , my friend has just bought a 010 block that has a set of 186 heads both dated H 18 9. My cars motor is dated August 25th on the engine pad. What would be a better date head for the car? Would the G 29 heads work or should I try to use his H 18 heads?

General Discussion / Z28 timing cover

I've been looking for a timing chain cover for my 1969 Z28. My car is a 1st week of September built car. What date would work for my car?  How far out can I go?

I'm sorry John, I might not have printed that exactly how it is stamped, the motor was cast the 22nd and the engine is stamped the 25th, these dates are in my head and I would have to go out to the car to get the exact readings off the engine. I appreciate the heads up.

General Discussion / 350 small block
April 28, 2011, 11:49:17 AM
My friend just bought a small block 350 and was told it was a 300 hp 350 4 bolt main block,. After removing the oil pan we discovered it is a 2 bolt main! The stamping on the engine pad is 10C105452/V08200NR, what is this engine? We were told it came out of a 1970 Impala SS.

Does anyone have a description or a pic of what a 1969 Z28 starter bracket looks like.

Need to replace my Z28 3791021 flywheel, I found one dated G 3 9. Would this date work for a Z28 with a build date of 09 A , my motor has a date stamp of 08 25 9.

Is a 1969 Z28 starter supposed to have a cast iron nose or a aluminum nose?
Does anyone has a pic of one , I bought one from a guy and it won't bolt up to my Z28 for some reason.

My friend bought a 1970 Nova and it was equipped with a 307 2 barrel. The car is totally original, I think he has this set up. He is building a different motor for the car so he won't use this. If interested I can ask him if he wants to sell these parts.

Thanks, I've been thinking about buying that rear end, although the price seems steep. $ 3500.00

I've been looking for a rear end for this car for a long time. This is the closest one that I have found.
