keep it stock . buy a 6 cylinder car and put the rs equipment on it and do what you want to that car .

i will go 1 step further if  the original block is hurt and cannot be repaired. then you have to do what i seen reggie jackson do a few years back with a 69 zl1. he replaced the engine with another correct but not born with block and sold the car at barret jackson with the original block pulled behind the car with a dolley.remember a car and all its parts is original only once any parts that are replaced incuding the engine should be keeped with the car for the next buyer. (or caretaker for that is what most of us have become).

i think what they are saying about a tall dist boss is under the intake where the dist passes through lifter valley of the block to connect to the cam is taller than a normal block.somebody correct me if im wrong on this

yea you are right about the fakes somebody else on this sight said that 20000 were made but now there is more than 50000 69 zs.

i think they are the same .production castings didnt vary alot due to the fact that thousands were built with the same patterns and molds
