if you turn slowly in it will stay running. there is no set # of turns on the idle screws to start or end with that is for people who dont know how to tune a carb

idle mixture screws can only be set correctly with a tach or vacuum gauge. with gauge or tach hooked up turn idle screw all the way in .then turn out slowly til the gauge or tach reads the highest number then stop and go to the other idle screw and repeat. and remember that one side can have a different setting. as in drivers side can be 1 turn out and pass side can be 3 turns out because each screw controls one idle circuit.hope this helps

mikefam    does the front of your 68 remote mirror base squared or come to a point like a 69? mine is squared and all the repos are pointed at the front

are you sure about the car ?im curious because i thought fred gibb had the 69 zl1s built and then chevrolet sent the ones he didnt keep to other dealerships.that being said yours would have the alt. setup that the other 68 had to be correct.

try al knoch interiors his stuff is just like factory.didnt know pui give so much trouble

an april 16 built MO 302 waht water pump should be on the thing?  i have been told that a 3859326 is correct .but i was on lucas restorations web site and they had pics of a june  68 rs z28 tore done from top to bottom and the pump that was on that car was 3839175 .any ideas what the difference is?

whos going to look at the engine that far back anyway.just clock your dist. to make it that much harder to read
