Thanks for the response William, as it is a 'tired old issue', I was informed by a person who told me they had done this. I suspected the resources of this site could clarify for me/us.

What I have read is they are under rear seat, on top of gas tank and some rare occasions behind glove box. I have no experience in finding one and am using what I have read as my resource.

I had been told recently that GM can now print off data of a classic vehicle, like build sheet, options ordered simply based upon the VIN, does anyone know if this is true? I had heard that this was not possible?

I just obtained a 396 Camaro, I drove it to work this week to show some people at work...fueled up at a gas station after the rush hour commute in the city and the car would not start! When I turned the key I had zero response, no clicking, no noise...the dreaded silence. I was in a pin stripe suit and tie, had no tools and was stuck. After about 5-10 minutes, it started again and got home no problem. Does this symptom seem like what I just learned about called STARTER HEAT SOAK? If so, should I install a heat shield? I also read that it may be the wires that get too hot coming from the starter more than the soleniod itself, should I wrap those wires and confirm a good ground, no paint on the block, etc?

The car was redone and the trunk lid was replaced, I will need to check if the proper trunk lid was selected at that time.

When I open my trunk, the trunk lid does not "pop" open, is the weight of the spoiler preventing this, or does this car's trunk not pop open?

I suspect I need to sand or strip the exisitng paint off? At least the most visible areas, like on top?...do I need to do the entire radiator?

I just obtained a restored 1969. It had about 600 miles since it was gone through, I now have placed about 300 miles on the car. The paint on the top of the radiator is flaking off exposing bare metal. Should I pull the radiator and strip as much as possible and paint again. Do we suspect the paint was not high heat paint and that is why this ocurring?

I just obtained a 69' .
When the wipers are turned off, are they supposed to return to the down position, or just stop at the loacation on the windshield when/where I turned them off?

I just purchased a 1969 RS/SS Convertible. The front spolier is damaged and I would like to replace it. I would like one that is flexible and also looks as orginal as possible, this one is hard plastic, and pulling out of a driveway, if it scrapes again, it is damaged and I would then need to get another one. I saw one at Rick's first generation for $34.99, seems reasonable price, yet shipping may be costly?

My thought is for casting date and vehicle production dates these are too close together?

The date on the cowl tag is 01C...I am told thie following numbers are on the motor...do these date code numbers show the motor was built January 16th to 18th range of 1969, and is that too close to the cowl tag date?

I tried to attach a pic, too large...it has a slot and I am told the car was sent to Europe actually

I am looking at a very clean 1969 camaro to buy, yet the cowl tag is alerting to me, it is missing the following at the bottom. It makes me leary! Build date is 01C (January 3rd week)
