All wiring looks great, this is the orignial 40 yr old starter, maybe needing to be rebuilt as I am unsure if it ever was before I got the vehicle...add w/ heat sheild?

I am seeking information on location for underhood lamp and the wirting route, where it was getting hooked up, etc... any photos?

I painted this w/ self etching primer, black, then with high gloss engine paint, turned out great, thanks. Found rattle cans at NAPA that met my needs, appreciate the input from all.

I went to my 1st car show Monday w/ my Camaro, I was so excited.... We were lined up waiting to enter and idlying for some time. I turned my car off and 3 minutes later we went to move, no response to start again!  >:(I had yet to work on this as it had not been acting up recently...maybe due to cooler weather? I bought a starter switch, so hooked it up to the starter to bypass the ignition swith, bushed the button, nothing. The solenoid was getting amped, so it has to be heat soak starter. We put ice in a towel and held it on the starter to cool it off, 20 minutes later it fired up. I am going to place this original starter in a box with all my other orginal parts and by a new mini starter...any suggesttion on best one for my Big block...thanks much

It is the top only, steel, appeared to be galvanized in appearance , I must have been wrong. I have almost sanded all to the metal, will search for paint and hope to get it done. It seems that the metal where paint is chipping off had grease, so it was not properly cleaned or degreased. The radiator appears new. Maybe I will take some photos before I paint as it is now and after..

I have chipped of the paint and wet sanded w/ 400 grit. This is the top of the radiator. What is my best paint to rattle can on at this point. Do I need to prime or just degrease and clean well, then paint w/ an underhood semio-gloss? I see most can take 250 degrees, is this OK for hte top of my radiator? Thanks, I am hoping to get this done for my 1st car show. I saw the Eastwood, but the shipping was as much as a can of paint...does NAPA carry any comprable quality i can find locally or ideas in Seattle area?

I am finally ready to obtain the paint and prep...this is a galvanized metal that this paint is chipping off. Do I need to scuff up the metal w/ like a green pad a little after I strip as much as possibe? Since it is galvanized metal, do i need to prime it?
Eastwood has Underhood Black Semi Gloss Aerosol 12 oz..10024 Z is this what a proper color application?

It looks like I have U69, since I have the floor console (D55), so the U79 was not avail. w/ this option, hence you mentioned the U80 option. I saw a wire that looked like it may have been speaker wire cut coming up from passenger side in the trunk by wheel well. To be stock, it would be a single 6X9 speaker for the U80? I guess I should look in my books to see location for the convertible and the bracket, etc. to mount it on.

I have a 1969 convertible w/ AM/FM push button radio. I have 2 little speakers under the dash. Did this year come w/ kick panel or rear speakers as a stock option? I would like to add some if stock, and not have the interior appear other than original. I saw speaker brackets for rear speakers for convertibles on Rick's.

I had this car not start again this week...I will be digging into the wiring first, I think the starter is OK...I will inform you what I learn

It would be nice if we could be updated with what the problem actually turned out to be.

I live in WA state, the car has not been driven much due to weather so this scenario has not returned nor have I worked on my related to this yet. So I am sorry Charley,  I have no update yet, but will inform once I dig deeper.

I see an adjustment to move the ends of the bars as well?

Big Blocks have an alternative location as well, by oil filter, based upon some good documentation on theCRG site, my BB is on this location
