Hurts to paint over perfect paint, but has to be done.

Hi David,
  Welcome aboard. For sure keep ALL your old parts! I have been using Hotchkis coils in all my cars. Beware that they are a 2" drop. I am pleased with the performance and stability they provide.
    2" drop is about perfect, very little roll, no rubbing with average sized tires. I have seen many front end rebuilds that end up looking much higher than original from "replacement" coils.
    It's all about what YOU require for your car.

Cool Ed, I had never heard of Baher Chevrolet. Our 08D 68 was purchased at Champion Chevrolet (same location) in Aug/Sept of 1967.
My 05C was purchased at Ted Green Chevrolet in Torrance, I had never heard of Ted Green till I ordered my Paperwork (it soon after changed to Martin Chevrolet)

The # 94 in the pits looks very similar to the # 64 that ran at Sonoma in June (see #11 response in the Sonoma thread) Same car?

seems like a air flow issue, be sure it has the correct shroud and fan in the correct factory location. rebuilt to original build specs ?
