The unit it self is triangle shaped with a eight pin plug exiting the rear.

Originality / 68 painted side marker bezels
July 05, 2009, 07:52:42 PM
I need some observation help regarding original 1968 side marker bezels. It seems that the front bezels were Highlighted with black painted Valleys (# 3925429) and the rear quarter panel belels are not painted ( # 3927459). Other than part books, I have been unable to find any information about this. For the last two weeks i have been attending as many shows/cruises as i could, but was not convinced one way or another. So happens the original painted cars i saw were both L.A. cars and both had the black front bezels and neither owner had ever noticed they were not the same as the rears. (these were standered models) My car has the R/S option. So my questions are: Is this standard?, Part of a trim option?, How is this judged at a show?  If you have any input please post.
Thank you,
Victor

Originality / 68 side marker bezels
June 19, 2009, 01:11:11 AM
I found two different front side marker bezels while reassembling my O5C LA RS/SS. one is part # 3925429 and inside the "valley" is painted black. The other is part # 3927459 and is not painted in the "valley". Was one of these part of the RS package?

General Discussion / Edelbrock's red camaro
March 26, 2009, 12:23:17 AM
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anybody has ever checked out the red 67 SS "that came from the factory with a 327" becuse they ran out of 350s ? I remember this being a magazine car early on (I think one of the stories was "THE CAMARO THAT COULD"). I don't buy that the factory made so many big mistakes. It seems that a lot of people think their wrong part is somehow original. It was common in the late 70's early 80's to crash or buy a crashed muscle car an put all the good stuff on a stocker... we did a few... numbers ment nothing! Parts were cheap, labor was free. We also swapped out all the good parts we wanted when we sold or traded cars. I have gone through 7 early camaros through the years and still have many of the good parts, kept 1 original BB car. Our group went through dozens (Chevelles and Novas too) and i'm sure this was repeted throughout the hot rod world. People junked 302s becuse they did not know how to tune or drive them. Anyway any info on the Edelbrock camaro would be great to know.
  Thanks,

Restoration / Competition plus rods
March 13, 2009, 11:42:27 PM
Hi all,
Does anyone know or know where I can find the Correct part number  or rod numbers for a competition plus shifter? They may be in a bucket with about 20 others.  I will be using this to replace a muncie shifter (factory warranty replacement anyway) in a Stock BB car with a console and was wondering if anybody has any "heads up" on this. Also, does anyone have a picture of a Muncie stick stamped "MUNCIE" that they can post?  as this will be mated to the shifter.
Thanks for reading and good luck on all your projects,

General Discussion / picture library
November 20, 2008, 11:32:47 PM
Hi all,
We were wondering if it would be possable or practical to create a photo library to go along with wealth of information at this site.
It would be great to be able to compair colors, punch fonts, locations, hardware, part changes, tags, textures, ect. ect. . .
Once again thanks to all that make this site happen.

Originality / 1968 "MUNCIE" stamp, D90 colors
May 30, 2008, 10:30:21 PM
Hi all,
I have Two questions.
1 Were in fact all 68 muncie shifters stamped MUNCIE? Mine is not.

2 The paint page states that a 1968 Camaro painted LeMans blue should have the D90 stripe painted white, I saw no exceptions
listed. My car has the RS black sill, rear BB black-out, the D90 stripe is visible in the sun through the $29.95 paint job that was
on the car when I bought it in 1980 from the second owner. The car has a Black vinyal top. I power washed Earl's paint over
the stripe and it is also black (white would be ulgy - Three tone paint !) The car was unmolested except for the radio was
replaced, it had deep set 6" low-rider rims, and Ansen ground grabber traction bars. so I belive it is all original. any feed back
or comments on these subjects would be great.
                                                                                                 Thanks,
                                                                                                 Victor

Restoration / best seat upholstery
March 13, 2008, 10:37:57 PM
 Hi all,
I am looking for the most original seatcovers and padding for a standard 1968 (712). Thanks for your comments.
P.S. Whats the best way to remove the melted rubber from the quarters and wheel wells, going faster did not work?

Originality / Bumper jacks
January 25, 2008, 01:54:58 PM
Hi Guy's,
how can I ID the correct bumper jack for a 05C-J543 1968 RS/SS 396?  base color? (black, grey or greenish) Leanth of tire iron? Proper load bracket? And is there any #'s or marks? I have many different styles from years of Hobbing and do not remember whitch belongs to my car. (For Data Base: 124378L340398, no ASTRO on windows, has Wood grain ash tray, D-90 mustache stripe, vented quarters. It is "U-2" Lemans blue/Black vinyl, "712" black standard int.) One oddity- It never had the trim around the dash, was this only a Deluxe Int. part? it look to be missing, but one was never mounted. If there is any info anybody needs from this car, or the Los Angeles area car Happenings i will be happy to help. vtfb68@sbcglobal.net.
