Decoding/Numbers / “1 of 1” Z11??
July 05, 2019, 12:09:52 AM
Found this car on CL - LOS Z-11.

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rch/cto/d/new-westminster-1969-chevrolet-camaro/6923539985.html

The ad states "Extremely rare trim tag, not your average Z11 (1 of 1) with the numbers posted on my trim/data tag. Please decode and research"

Am I missing something here?

Good afternoon -

I am hoping to get some input on the engine and transmission stamps attached.

The L160XXX VIN number seems to align with the production date of 06B.

Are the engine assembly date of 0322 (Mar 22) and the tranny date of C28 (Mar 28) too early for a second week of June build?

The engine pad partial VIN number is upside down compared to the assembly date stamp - this seems wrong to me?

There is no partial VIN stamp on the tranny?

And BTW the rear axle is a QA - 12 bolt 4:10 posi.

Thank you!

No affiliation - any thoughts on this other than the 402 replacement block & the blurry VIN & Trim tag photos?

Decoding/Numbers / 1967 SS396 MW Pad Stamp
May 27, 2015, 10:45:33 PM
Good evening -

Is MW the appropriate engine pad suffix for a 67 SS396 325hp 4spd? (Trim tag attached)

The Camaro.org site states this is for a 68 396 325hp while the Nastyz28 site states it is for both 67 & 68.

As well - I am a little suspicious of the stamping on this block? (VIN is N221341) Any comments would be awesome :)

Thank you!

Good evening -

Were any 68 Camaro's produced in August at the Los Angeles plant?

I am looking at a 396 68 SS vin L300504 with a 08E on the trim tag. The holistic and other sites suggest that LA started production in September...

Any input would be appreciated :)

General Discussion / Real 1968 Z28
February 28, 2015, 10:57:55 PM
After looking at many re-stamped, retagged & basically fake first gen Z's, Jerry M connected me with this very nice 51,000 mile original Sequoia Green 68 Z28. :D

Thanks for everyone that provided invaluable comments & info on my previous posts!

Onto the next one....

Decoding/Numbers / Another 1969 Z28??
February 18, 2015, 10:38:39 PM
Hello again -

I am still searching for a real 69 Z28.

Attached is a photo of a 69 Camaro engine pad stamp I am looking at - my concern is the font in the "1" of 15. Any comments on this stamp would be appreciated.

As well I have attached photos of the trim tag and engine VIN stamp for any comments.

Thank you :)

Decoding/Numbers / 1969 Z28 VIN Stamp or Re-stamp?
February 13, 2015, 07:05:32 PM
Good evening -

I am looking at purchasing 1969 Z28 (in addition to the 69 SS396 per my other post today) - the seller claims to have the original DZ block. The trim tag is Norwood 10B & the car is Canadian with GM docs matching the VIN.

The engine block cast date is I 24 8 which I believe is September 24 1968 (photo attached). The engine stamp has the correct partial VIN number and the assembly date seems reasonable - October 2. (photo attached)

Does anyone have an opinion on whether the stamping is original or not?

Any advice or opinion would be greatly appreciated!

Good afternoon -

I am looking at purchasing a 1969 Camaro SS396.

The trim tag indicates first week of December production (12A - photo attached).

The VIN number indicates that the car was assembled on or about November 28 - definitely last week of November. (VIN - 124379N5499XX)

Does this confirm that the trim tag is not for this car?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thank you!
