I did a quickie search and haven't found what I looking for yet.  So I ask, anyone with their pedal assemblies to where you can see the clevis on the rod can you see any numbers stamped on it or any manufacturer mark?  See photos.  I have reach out to a couple guys local and I hope to hear something back but wanted to see if anyone else ever took note of it?

Couple Camaro buddies and I were discussing upper brackets and the question came up.  When or did production transition to the clip nut from the fixed nut.

While doing some research  yesterday I was sent this link and then I remembered finding a video several years ago of what I think might be the first race the Jenkins 67 Camaro attended..  According to the video its at Cecil Dragway at the Run What You Brung race.  Not trying to stir the pot but I think it was and still is an interesting topic.  Notice the red wheels from Jenkins red Chevy II on the back.  By the looks of the clothing and the lack of leaves on the trees its pretty early in the year but idk about that part of the country and its season changes.  Maybe someone will remember when this event was held so we can possibly put a rough date on when it happened.

I've thought long and hard about this and I think, with the rising interest in proper restorations coupled with the surging popularity of survivor cars, while discussing with a core member we agreed it would be a good topic to discuss.  While I have decided that since RGR is no longer in business and, myself, wanting to help the community, I wanted to start a new thread on how and when to try to attempt preservation on these survivors.  I will be using my 68 Z as the platform for the processes I use.  I recently brought this car home from a prolonged storage at a friends home and I, then, took a small vacation from my automotive duties.  Now that the fog has settled, I have looked the car over and decided to abandon the original plan.  Which was restoration that has now turned into a preservation attempt.
       I thought seeing how far it had deteriorated to reviving the remaining original car and enjoy the path and hopefully learn some new info along the way.  Overall I look forward and encourage additional input from some of the; as I like calling them, Automotive Preservationists.  My approach will be from a person that likes to work in the garage and maybe doesn't have limitless resources but I think an average enthusiast can do and feel good about doing it.  Also if you have never attempted any of these processes do so on a test panel or junk part before moving to the desired part or area needing the work.  Let me make it clear I am certainly no expert when it comes to preserving as this has always been a hobby.  With that said, Let's get started...

First let's go over the history of the car to date 11/22/21.  Car was originally ordered by Capitol Chevrolet in the fall of 1967 and left Van Nuys plant on 12/22/67.







Unfortunately no history has been found but the trail starts to pick up in the spring of 1970 with this article from the Austin Statesman newspaper.  I believe that this is potentially the order in which the story goes at this point.  Purely speculation to date.

While this is going on a salesman by the name Bill Pevey sends out a note in the paper that he was currently at Henna Chevrolet the other dealership in Austin aside from Capitol.

While going through some recent purchased parts I have run across several radiator overflow hose clip codes.  I would like to see if I can collect data points in this thread to verify if there is any correlation or if it is some type of date or   Unless someone has info on this topic it would be greatly appreciated. If the powers that be feel this is a valid topic to be moved to research topics that would be fine as well.  Thanks.

Stones River swap meet in the new Nashville Fairgrounds.  Same location as previous years just new buildings and you don't have to walk up the dreaded hill to the buildings.  Who all is going?  Myself and a few others will be setup in a row in Expo 3 building.  If you are looking for anything pm me and I'll see if I have what you need. 

I'm having a brain fart this afternoon.  Early 68 with deluxe interior should have a black smooth ashtray or textured black ashtray.?.?

I realize this topic has been covered before but I am curious if there is a known date as to when it implemented.  I have heard 67's did not get the deadener.  But I know 68 & 9 did.  Any known info?
