Hello everyone....Question:  Does anyone here know the proper procedure on aligning a bellhousing???  We used a dial indicator, but everytime we would recheck the reading, they would "differ" from previous reading.  Used new dowel pins also.  Still no good.  Going to purchase some stock dowel pins and see if that helps.  Any assistance would be appreciated guys.  Thanks!

General Discussion / Harrison Radiator
February 27, 2018, 10:37:05 PM
Hi Guys!  Does anyone have knowledge on a Harrison Radiator, why these are constructed with a "curved neck" top radiator out-let??  This was on all the 4-core
radiators that were equipped with a 396 or 427 big block engine.  This curved neck is available in some of the Camaro parts book, that you can insall on a Harrison non-curved tank.

General Discussion / Steering Wheel Shroud
February 22, 2018, 11:13:23 PM
Does anyone know if the steering wheel shrouds on 69 Camaros, had the edge of the shroud "painted" or was it "vacuum plating"???  The part# was 3939760.
Some of the other dash cluster parts have this "chrome like" finish, on the outside edges of that part.  OK guys, give me a shout if you have any knowledge of someone who does this kind of restoration.   Thanks!!    Don

General Discussion / Vacuum shortage
December 25, 2017, 07:24:40 PM
Hi Guys...I have a BB 396/375 that has a "vacuum" issue.  Currently pulling about 9.0 inches.  I believe i should be creating around 11 - 12 inches.  It has a slightly  hotter cam than stock for this engine.  Before we dive into it, I just thought I'd ask the question of what might be the "root cause".  The cam maybe  a little.  We suspect may the intake manifold.  Could be slightly warped?not square???  What it does when it gets hot, idles down and stalls out.  Cold, it runs OK.  Anyhow, any input would be helpful before we go nuts.  Thanks guys!!

General Discussion / 1969 Camaro Over Heating issue
July 07, 2017, 08:24:41 PM
Hi Guys!!  Need some direction on a 69 Camaro BB that is over-heating bad.  I found the clutch fan touching back of radiator.  Corrected this, but still is HOT. Have flow in tank that was changed out during resto.  Suspect water pump may be culprit.  What is the best way to trouble shoot this issue???  All responses would be appreciated.  Thanks!   Don

Hello everyone.  Hope everybody had a nice Christmas.  Question to anyone who has knowledge on the rare "cowl plenum" air cleaner set-up.  Is it work the cost and time to convert to "cowl plenum" system?  I've been told this system brings in more cooler air to carb verses the popular cowl induction set-up.  Would appreciate anyones thought or experience with this type of air delivery to a 396 big block 69 Camaro.  Looking to squeeze every bit of horsepower from this engine.  Thanks

Maintenance / Noisy tranny/clutch????
June 04, 2016, 07:49:05 PM
Hi everyone!!!  I just re-built my M-22 trans and is coupled with a newer Center Force Dual Friction clutch.  Put it all back together, and it making this "rubbing" or "chatter", squeaky noises.  When driving, it appears to stop for a moment.  Then it starts again.  When I take it out of gear and coast, it is still making noise.  Where do I look??  Does tranny have to be pulled again??  If anyone out there has had similar problem, feel free to chime in and advise the best remedy for this.  Hope to hear from somebody.  Thanks all......

Hello everyone!!  I have a question for you Camaro Gurus.  I own a 1969 Camaro SS/RS with a 396/375 engine.  Just totally rebuilt tranny (M-22)  Newer clutch assembly also.  Centerforce dual friction clutch set-up.   Problem I have is that when car is shifted into reverse, I get a little grinding on gears.  When car is cold, this doesn't happen.  Seems to be more noticeable when car is at running temp.  We adjusted the free-play out of clutch and it still tends to grind now and then.  When I put 4-speed in first before going into reverse, this seems to help.  But still, its not right.  Any clutch experts out there, any info you can shed on this issue would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for listening.......
