Originality / Power Window Harness picture
January 24, 2026, 01:09:11 PM
Can somebody please provide me with a picture of the driver's door, of a 68/69, with the power window harness in place? There's a certain way they come through the shell before it plugs into the master switch. Thank you, Joe

General Discussion / 1967 to 1969 convertible top screws
February 24, 2025, 11:54:49 AM
I'm trying to help a friend with his 1969 convertible. He has a broken screw/bolt at the pivot near what would be a roof rail on a coupe. I can't find any drawings for the top in the parts books I have. I came up with a possible part number of 4412920 but it's hex. All the hardware on his car, & 3 other I looks at, were large slotted...kind of like a licence plate screw. Can anybody help me with a part number for the correct screw/bolt? I usually don't have this much problem with parts. Thank you, Joe

I have a friend installing power windows in his 69 coupe. There's a wire with a grommet that comes from the inside of the car, through the firewall & goes to the circuit breaker. I went though the AIMs book but couldn't come up with a definitive answer as to where that hole needs to be. Even the chart doesn't show that hole. Power top should have the same hole. It should be 1/2". Can anybody help please & tell me the location of that hole? Thank you, Joe

Original Cars and Details / Yard find 1969 Z/28 RS
December 17, 2023, 07:42:23 AM
The story of this car has been passed around Tucson for many years. The story turned out to be real. I'm probably the only one who didn't actually know where this car was located. I heard it was on the south side & then I heard that it was on the east side. Somebody was in the right place at the right time with the right amount of cash & it wasn't me. The car has been sitting outside all these year & the Az sun has taken it's normal toll. The car is a 09A 1968 built car so some things are different. The born with engine & trans were still with the car. The new owner just wants to make it alive again, but leave the car as is. Enjoy :)

Maintenance / Cancel cam spring
October 10, 2023, 09:43:02 PM
68 w/o tilt, does it have a spring between the cancel cam & steering wheel hub? I've looked in the parts book & the assm manual. My research was inconclusive. Thank you, Joe

General Discussion / What colour is this?
April 25, 2023, 08:07:27 AM
A friend had an old picture of a car his girlfriend's parents bought in 1969 & traded in 1972. I'm thinking this car is Asure Turquoise. Any thoughts? Thank you, Joe

Restoration / Shock absorber codes
December 05, 2022, 11:13:34 AM
I'm having Dan Patch restore some 477 & 851 shocks for my 68 Z/28. Was the shock codes for these 2 shocks the same for 1968 & 1969? UN & PS? Thank you, Joe

Research Topics & Reports / Fuel Pump Research
August 29, 2022, 05:07:28 PM
I'm seeing more & more discussion about fuel pumps & realize we need to know more. I've been researching fuel pumps through as many avenues as I can think of. I've created a list that Kurt will share. What I need is more input from anybody that might have original pumps. The part number, date code & known exact application and car build date would be wonderful. Information from just the flange only will always help. The picture is Guy Youngdell's original pump from his 12k miles 375hp April 1969 Built.

Assm line pumps & early NOS pumps will have a 2 letter code. The 1st letter is the month A-L indicating A=January etc. The 2nd letter indicates the year F=1966, G=1967, H=1968, I=1969, & J=1970.
Starting in 1971, pumps had Julian dates 1-365 followed by a letter. K=1971, L-1972, etc.  123K40727 would be May 3rd 1971....

Originality / 40727 fuel pump
August 16, 2022, 10:46:58 AM
Is there such a thing as a 40727 fuel pump with a 2 letter date code? Everything I've observed is a Jullian date which was after 1971. Thank you, Joe

June 14, 2022, 09:52:14 PM
On a 1967/1968 4 speed Muncie shifter, what is used to line up the gates during shift rod adjustment? I see a round area & a flat area in the middle. Thank you, Joe

Originality / 1968 Front bumper hardware
April 13, 2022, 01:16:09 PM
I'm putting a NOS front bumper on my 68 & on the corner bolts there are flat washers between the rubber bushing & the special nut, pn 128144. I could use a spec on that washer if anybody has one. Both of mine are different but one could be correct. Thank you, Joe

Originality / 1968 front bumper
January 07, 2022, 11:21:45 AM
In the AIM book it calls for a small 2 hole bracket (3930189) with a rectangular snubber (3929955) that bolts to the inside center of the front bumper. Did all 68s have that piece....at both plants? Thank you, Joe

Maintenance / Metering valve blow out
October 20, 2021, 10:48:09 AM
1969 Camaro. The metering valve, the round valve below the master cyl has blown out twice where the boot is at. Once when I rebuilt & once after having it professionally rebuilt. Funny thing is it never leaked till I rebuilt it. I had the master cyl sleeved & rebuilt. I did all the calipers & wheel cyl myself. I haven't touched the prop valve (frame rail) or the junction where all the lines come together below the metering valve. Brakes working on all 4 corners. Any ideas what might be going on? Thank you, Joe

Restoration / 1969 deluxe door panel problems
July 09, 2021, 10:00:25 AM
I posted this question on the Yenko site but haven't got any responce. I know not everybody goes there...so. Please take a look. Thank you, Joe

I didn't buy reproduction door panels for the Camaro because I hear they don't fit real good. People have had to use heat guns to change the angle of the top of the door panel. That being said, I sent my originals to Al Knoch to be redone fiquring they came off this car, they should fit....right? Wrong. The problem is the top just like the ABS type except these are the fibre board. Has anybody else had this problem after having them redone? Any help please?
