Decoding/Numbers / 67 SS hood fin shape, 2 part #'s
January 12, 2022, 09:45:18 PM
I realized today that there are two different outer fin shapes, # 3898132 has squared outer  fin ends, # 3914781 has all rounded fins.
Early vs late ? My brother's Nova has the rounded fins. Anyone get to the bottom of this before?

   Thanks,

Originality / Odd bulkhead cutout, original ?
December 01, 2021, 06:21:46 PM
Hi guys,
our Jan. 67 convertible has a a cutout on the bullhead (that is under the cowl top vent, near the hidden VIN)
it extends the outboard passenger side hole to the firewall. its about 2.5" wide and has mounting holes. it sits above the A/C box.
i have never noticed this on any other car. Is there something I'm missing or just some kind of old add-on.
All related thoughts welcome.

Thank's Again,

Restoration / Total rewiring, bare shell 67 convertible.
September 24, 2018, 01:03:53 PM
 Hi guys,
I will be installing All electrical pieces soon, I am looking for any heads up regarding situations I may encounter. It seems to be heads up installation and not anticipating too much trouble
but will be happy to listen to any tips.
The car is a early 1967 RS/SS-350 convertible  (I know, a bunch have popped up here lately) with power top, A/C, and electric windows. The dog house is not yet mounted as I plan to wire that
while I  have unfettered access, nor is the dash pad installed. All the wiring accessories are from M&H.

    Thank you,

Originality / 67 11B parchment seat covers
November 28, 2016, 03:26:08 PM
Can anyone shed some light on the seat appearance  for a 1967 11B 797-Z convertible? The seats do not have the black insert line, they are all white, I also noticed that the seats are pleated up
to the insert as opposed to two flat panels that are present on seats with the black inserts. Googling pictures I find both styles. does someone reproduce the solid color style?
     Thank you,

General Discussion / May 1968 trim tag irregularities
September 11, 2014, 06:49:31 PM
Does any one have any information regarding wrong week being used on the trim tag for much of the month of may? My O5C's official production date is 5/6/68, I would think it should be O5A. Another member mentioned a "known" TT snafu occurred during this time period but was unable to expand on that. Does anybody have a LA O5A, O5B or O5D ?

I was wondering what would be the most complete Trans Am event to attend?
There is the Sonoma event on May 17, Rolex/Mazda event on Aug 14, and the Coronado event in September.
We want to see the trans Am events with the most cars in attendance.
Any advice or recommendations would be apprecitated.

General Discussion / Edlebrock 1967 SS TEST CAR
May 06, 2013, 04:23:11 PM
This past Sunday I was able to attend the Edlebrock car show and was pleasently suprised to find out that the complete display bio for this car has been updated, It now states that it "came with a first year 350 V8" no longer the Hot Rod " factory ran out of 350's" 327 story, If further refers to an October build " hightly decorated life that hasn't stopped since October 1966"  No longer "the first Camaro in California and the third built" The car has a solid front sub frame. It now sports a Edlebrock engine, late SS gas cap, (needs a SS350) 15 x 7 Ralleys. a nice car.
On a side note, the Smokey # 13 was not on display this year.

68 SS onwers, what do you have? I have pictures but can not post.

General Discussion / Early 68 Los RS TT
February 04, 2013, 06:06:18 PM
Getting ready to pick up a original owner R/S (L-30, PG, 749 Int. Y-2 pnt. A/C) I have known this car since '77 but have not seen it in 25 years. The only pictures I have are general but not percise. It seems to be 08E, followed by 102 B (or  I 129)  scheduel, LOS 01055  body number, Has "astro" script windows, black ash tray, also a odd drivers side mirror. I do not have the VIN #.
When did Los Angeles start 68 production? I always thought production stsrted in September.

General Discussion / Starter ID help
May 30, 2011, 01:07:32 PM
Can anybody check starter # 1108435? I don't have any listing for this #. It is dated 9 K 21 so I wondering what it came from.
It should have been a 1107365, so now I need to find 365. would the starter be part of the motor assembly or installed on the production line?
  Thank you,

Originality / 1968 R/S Molding clips style
November 25, 2010, 08:38:19 PM
Hi Guys,
Part # 3921828 retaining clips in the AIM (page 423) shows a clip that looks like the repo items from classic camaro or rick's with a green finish and two prong construction, However the clips that were I removed were four prong brown finish clips that resemble a
bug with longer "leggs" on one side like a stink bug (the moldingd are somewhat triangle shapped). There is not a revision listed in my AIM but there is no printed date either, The car is an L.A. 05C, I want to use the brown clips that fit perfectly and holds the moulding very tight. Does anybody know if these clips were original? changed at the assembly plantat some point?  and if so, where can i get six more?
The brown four prong clips are far superior to the green two prong clips. Has any one else encountered these clips on their car?
Thank you for your time,
  Victor
