General Discussion / Glad to be back!
November 04, 2025, 10:49:52 PM

Many things were going on behind the scenes to make improvements to the site and to the forum the past few months.  The site has been moved to a new host, and hopefully will be more stable. You will also notice that we are now a secure site (https:/)

We apologize for the delays we experienced, but some technical difficulties and health issues got in the way. As volunteers, we run the forum because we love Camaros, not because we are web experts. We learned more about software and servers and we are happy to be back and hopefully things will be good to go for a long time.

Do any of you have a 1967 Camaro with 6 cylinder and a throttle cable? I have always been under the impression that the cable was not used until 1968.

General Discussion / 1972 strike
May 23, 2025, 01:37:55 PM
Not completely related to 67-69 Camaros but interesting.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1LmVxf8XbB/?mibextid=wwXIfr

A UAW strike hit the Norwood, OH assembly plant in early April, 1972. The strike lasted 174 days, the longest strike in GM history up to that point, and not be resolved until September 1972. The walk out left hundreds of Camaros, Firebirds, and Novas, in various stages of assembly, stranded on the production line. By the time the strike ended, production for the 1973 model year had begun at other assembly plants.

New federal bumper regulations had been implemented for the 1973 model year, and General Motors decided it was too costly to update the 1,100 1972 models left on the Norwood assembly line to 1973 standards. They were all crushed (around 40 nearly completed cars were stripped of their VIN's and donated to vocational schools).

General Discussion / A 67 with A LOT of options
January 12, 2025, 07:22:49 PM
A guy was able to purchase back his dad's old car. The car is in Egypt.

Not sure I have seen a tag with this many options.

Research Topics & Reports / Hood Report (Again)
September 12, 2024, 10:23:19 AM
I am reaching out to see if any of you can help with one or two clear pictures of an original hood insulation clip/retainer for 67-69 Camaro. And if possible, a side by side comparison picture of an original and a reproduction. If needed, I can send you a reproduction clip.

It's for the hood report and it's one of the last things to finish.

You can post here (size will be limited to 200 kb) or email me the pic with size up to 2 mb.

Thanks in advance.

6-cylinder Camaros / NOS distributor cap
September 11, 2024, 01:01:34 PM
Not sure if this will fit 67-69 but it was used up to 1962.

If it works for any of you then you can have it free.  Email me and pay the actual shipping. Not sure if the rotor is correct for the cap.

General Discussion / New Pics needed for Homepage
August 31, 2024, 11:32:53 AM
I have a 69 that was submitted by someone a while back but I am looking for pics of a 67 and a 68 for the Homepage.

Here is what I will need.

1. Picture of the car with the side and front of the car visible. Look at the current pics for examples.  At least 800 X 600.

2. Name of the owner and how you would like to be identified with the image of the car (full name, partial name or CRG username).

3. Model of the car if it is not readily apparent.

It has been a while so if you submitted pics and I did not use yours the last time, remind me.  If you have already had your car posted in the past, please let others have a chance.

Thanks in advance.

July 14, 2024, 07:46:58 PM
Looking for anyone that has purchased a direct fit aluminum radiator for a 1969 big block Camaro.

What did you use and where did you get it?

Thanks in advance!

General Discussion / Wrong body tag for the VIN
March 25, 2024, 11:07:21 AM
This 1968 body tag is advertised to be on 124377L107266 and that is a 1967 VIN.

Obviously not the original tag.  Worth a very close look if you are considering the car.

General Discussion / Site Issues
January 14, 2024, 12:41:14 PM
We had a problem recently of not being able to upload pics to the forum posts. That has been fixed.

The pics on the front page were updated.

Thanks for your patience.

We need the following pics to finish up the hood report

1.  Underside pic of a late 1969 model year SS hood without the underhood insulation attached.
2.  Top side of a 67 SS hood without the louvers in place. We need to show that there were no drain holes.
3.  Original hood side rubber "bumpers" for 1967 and for 1968-1969.  There are 2 styles.
4.  Original underhood insulation pics for all 3 years and all types. These will be hard to come by for all applications but at least a few would be good to show.
5.  A side by side picture comparison of an original hood insulation clip and a reproduction clip.

You can post the pics here and then if they will be used and I need larger sizes or your photo credit information I will contact you.

Thanks in advance.

1969 - Orphans / 9N601322 L35 block
December 29, 2023, 12:29:27 PM
I have an L35 block with partial VIN down by the oil filter that appears to be from 19N601322. Needs 1 sleeve.

I am pretty sure the whole VIN is 124379N601322 - it is most likely a hard top car.

General Discussion / Homepage Pics - new post
December 27, 2023, 02:41:29 PM
For years Steve would collect photos and send to me, then I would pick different ones for the ones on the homepage. We use a 67, 68 and 69. I don't change these as often as I used to. When I was getting frequent submissions I would change every 1 or 2 months.

If you would like to submit a pic for possible inclusion on the homepage, post one in this thread.

Guidelines.

1. Car only, no people.

2. Try to get a side shot or angled. Not direct front or rear pics.

3. Do not crop the image. I will do that. If the image is not high enough resolution I will email you and ask for a full size pic.

I already have a new 69 pic.

Thanks in advance.
