General Discussion / BJ Auction - 67 RS went for $80k
January 19, 2012, 11:09:02 AM
Did you see the '67 RS Convertible (Butternut Yellow) that went for $80k last night? I don't think it even had the original 327 engine. I understand the BJ effect on prices, but $80k for this car???

I have not paid much attention to Camaro prices in the last few years - do I need to go to the garage and give my neglected '67 a big hug??

General Discussion / Al Maynard
September 13, 2011, 10:38:34 AM
I saw that Al Maynard passed away recently.  I imagine that many folks on this site may have crossed paths with him??

Many years ago, I needed a date match set of heads for my 1967 350 Camaro. I do not recall how I received his name, but I was blown away by the stuff he had at his house. I told him the date codes that I needed, and he took me out back to one of several sheds packed with old parts. I remember the heads were all organized on shelves - he was able to go right to the exact heads that I needed - plus, I had him rebuild them for me. He was really nice to me, showing me around his sheds and house. His knowledge, collection of cars, engines, transmissions, parts was incredible. I could have spent a week there looking at everything!!

My repro Delco battery finally died after 8 years (I never thought it would last that long!).  I called NPD, where I purchased the last one and they do not carry them anymore because of too many issues.

Can anyone recommend a place to buy them now (any vendors in Michigan??)??  Are there different companies making them?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Can anyone tell me what the going rate might be for a first gen trunklid - original, exc condition (no rust in the seams, no filler) with spoiler holes???

I have checked ebay/hemmings and have not found anything comparable to use as a guide.

Thanks for any help offered.

General Discussion / Pilot Bushing Installation Depth??
November 17, 2006, 12:01:49 PM
1967 Camaro, SS350, 3 speed Man Trans

Does the pilot bushing (bronze) get installed flush with the crank surface around the hole  or should it be proud by Xmm???

Thanks!!

My severely shuddering clutch needs to be replaced and I was looking for a recommendation on the brand to use. My car is a 1967 SS350, with the 3 speed man trans, engine is all original/stock.

Please let me know what you selected and the rationale for your selection.

Thanks!

I need to renew my insurance with Hagerty and I am investigating what value to declare.

I have a 1967 SS350 Convertible, 3spd manual, 70K original miles, ground up resto, matching #s, power disc brakes, fold down rear seat, wood steering wheel, base interior, AM radio, Butternut with black interior/top. It is currently insured for $21k.

1) Any recommendations as to its value??
2) Any recommendations for an appraiser in South East Michigan??

Thanks in advance for your help!
