General Discussion / Sick of seeing this Z on ebay
December 07, 2012, 08:40:15 AM
I am so sick of seeing this Z. This was my car. I had Jerry do the inspection. At that time there was no VIN stamped on the block. I have told this dealer that and they ignore me. Jerry stated in his report "Can I say that this is definitely the original engine to this vehicle? I can neither confirm nor deny it's authenticity."

Looking for the 5/16 bolt for 69 Z28 neg battery cable side terminal. Someone replaced the bolt in mine with the 3/8 bolt for newer batteries. I have a Y 77 battery in mine. Can't find the right bolt.

Originality / 1969 seats
October 16, 2012, 05:19:12 PM
Are the seats the same for standard and deluxe 1969 interior? I want to buy an extra set of seats for my car and have a set of comfortweave seats in it instead of the original houndstooth without having to recover the seats. That way I still have original seats for it if I sell it. I found a set of front and rear standard seats so need to know if all I need to do is recover them with comfortweave. Also how has the best seat covers for the comfortweave?

General Discussion / 1969 Daytona Yellow Z on ebay
October 10, 2012, 08:04:25 PM
Really interested in this car. What are your thoughts and what's it worth? I think the car looks very nice for a 25 year old restoration. Remember back then there weren't that many being restored yet so I think he did a remarkable job considering. I am currently the leading bidder. My max bid did not meet his reserve but is close to what he said he'll take for it. Just can't decide to go the extra 5K or not. My biggest concern is I want the vinyl top on it and to do that the car requires repainting. Doubt if anyone can match it up just spot painting. I love the fact it is original type paint. Repainting this car would almost be like repainting a nice survivor car. Not what I'd want to do.

General Discussion / Ebay seller from Ky.
June 25, 2012, 10:32:28 AM
Anybody know anything about the seller on eBay from Bee Springs Ky? He always seems to have a 69 Z for sale. He has a black one on there now but I think it's fake. Someone asked him about it and he says it's real. Said he knows original owner.

Maintenance / 69 Z28 brake problem.....hanging up
July 24, 2008, 11:59:07 AM
My brakes on my Z want to hang up after car is driven a few miles. I noticed that the pedal is tight and if you put you foot behind the pedal and pull back it will relax the brakes some. Car does have a new reproduction booster on it. Is there some kind of adjustment I need to make?

General Discussion / DZ oil pressure
May 22, 2008, 04:30:07 PM
I just installed an oil pressure gauge in my 69Z since it was a non gauge car. What is the typical oil pressure for a stock DZ at idle and at normal cruising speed?

Mild Modifications / 69 maximum rear tire size
April 07, 2008, 11:03:25 PM
I just bought a 69Z. I'm considering going old school with the car. Thinking about putting Crager SS wheels on it. What would be the maximum tire size I could put on the rear without clearance problem? I want to go with vintage tires so I'm thinking G60-15's.

Originality / Z28 stripes with vinyl top
March 16, 2008, 05:01:50 PM
I"m looking at a Z with paint code 76 B. When they restored the car they did not put the vinyl top on it. I was wondering how far the stripes were with a vinyl top from the bottom of the rear window. I believe I would have to redo the stripes if I installed a vinyl top on the car. That would make it way more exspensive to do.

General Discussion / Style trim or not?
March 13, 2008, 06:43:14 PM
I'm looking at an X77 car that has just been restored. Problem is I really don't like the look of cars without style trim. Would you even consider putting style trim on a high end restored X77? Give me your pros, cons and opinions.
